Register Your Business Name
Using a name other than your own? Most states require you to register it.
The SBA says most states require you to register a DBA. In California it is a Fictitious Business Name statement with the county clerk. San Diego County, for example, requires filing within 40 days of starting business and publishing a notice within 45 days of filing.
